Hi all-
My blog is done! Just kidding, but this is what (I hope) it will look like in a few weeks time. Clean & simple – I was going for something that is easy to navigate and understand yet different from the blog styles that are so common. I know we’re supposed to play around with a background, but for a blog I think that might detract away from the content. I also really enjoy minimal design. What do you guys think?

Angel-
I love love love what you have done here. I think you have a pretty good handle on clean, grid design. Sometimes clean grid sites seem a little sterile and lifeless, but you have been able to create an atmosphere that is exciting and colorful. Specifically, I like the thick black rules and the generous padding around the column heads. I wonder if the sizes of the images should be uniform, or if that might take away some of the energy you have going, so you might want to check out what that looks like. I am not crazy about the date being smushed at the end of the top rule, maybe that should be played with a bit, too. Overall, I’m lovin’ it. I would read this blog!
Hey Angel,
Looks sweet. Definitely have a nice handle on the layout and I like the use of rules. They are working really well.
I know you want to keep the layout tightly wound together, but the gutter space is a few touches too tight for me. Creates some visual tension, which I generally like, but may not be appropriate here. Also, the leading of the text blocks feels a bit too tight proportional to the type size, so maybe look at increasing line spacing a touch for easier legibility.
I’m curious how your going to play with the date. It seems like a big element in your header, but does it incorporate into your post layout? For example, are all the posts shown here from one day? A bold time stamp could be a nice thing to bring into play.
Have a good weekend!

Comments from class:
- Gutter space is too tight
- Posts and type is too small to read
- Move left nav to footer
- Letterspace the headings more
- Use one grid unit as gutter space, 3 columns
- Play with location of datestamp
- Spread out main nav bar more
