GRAF MOTION ANALISYS

STEP 01: motion recording
The movements of the pen stroke are recorded as the writer creates the tag. The tag is written on glass with a camera recording from the reverse side. By recording with this method only the ink is recorded into the computer vision system (no part of the writer is visible).

In this example the tag written looks as follows:

STEP 02: motion analysis
The movements of the pen stoked are analyzed through a computer vision system which creates data visualizations tracking speed, x / y direction, change in direction, amount of ink, etc.

STEP 03: data vis. as graf
The visualization of the graffiti creation is placed back into the public realm becoming itself a form of graffiti. It is placed near graffiti tags by the same artist.

STEP 04: web
As a viewer gets closer to the visualization they notice a web URL which shows video of the original tag being written.

STEP 05: comparative data
In the online environment viewers can compare writing samples of different graf artists and explore their creation in time.
