Interview w/ volunteer: I've been doing this two years. Two years ago, right around the holiday time. I live down the street, I was walking with my fiance, and I saw the dogs and just started doing it from there. And its been consistent from the last two years.

41:15 - 41:21
Usually I'm here every week. I usually try to sit for two or three hours every week.

41:52 - 42:00
This is Sydney, Sydney is two years old. And he's really sweet. He has a thing for motorcycles. Otherwise he's pretty square.

42:13 - 42:22
Most of them are found either in Brooklyn, where John used to do his route. But I'm not really sure. Sydney has been here awhile so I hope we can find him a home soon.

43:15 - 43:45
Most of them when they come in, its malnutrition. Sometimes, digestive probelms, and John will take them to the vet, until they are healthy. Usually when they are out here, they are healthy and ready to go into a home.

44:14 - 44:50
Normally, John will get here from the shelter, and John will bring the dogs. 8 or 9 dogs depending on how many volunteers. And cats. And People will just show up, volunteers will show up, like myself. Everyone who is a volunteer has to sign a waiver.

45:13 - 45:23
There is a waiver that every one of us has to sign, that basically says that if we get bit, its our own fault. But like I said I've said, I've been here two years, and the dogs do not represent a problem.

45:28 - 45:53
Its amazing, they're so loyal. Probably because, they've been abandoned. They've been abused, that when you reach out to them and you show them that you'll be there for them, they become really territorial. And their sweet. I'm amazed that these dogs have been left for dead. And if you look at him, he's right next to me and he's happy.

46:30 = 47:00
You just have to be alert. First time I came here, I brought a book. And that didn't work, because you never know when a dog is going to come down the street and startle everybody or if he's playing with you and for some reason becomes spooked by somebody.

47:34 - 48:08
Top view of Sydney.

48:09 - 49:25
Its really tough. People are always looking. This couple right here has their own... Everyone comes with pre-requisities. Some people like small dogs, some people like big dogs. And then the other thing is, if you don't like a dog, if you want a dog, some people say short hair, some people say long hair, it such an individual, Its like buying jewelry and sometimes its more personal than that. Everybody has their own preferences. And there was a dog here that for of his brothers were identical. They were all puppies. They were the most gorgeous dogs, three of them got adopted within one month and Rudy was here for a year. How do you explain that? I can't explain that. They all look the same. I couldn't even tell any of them apart. Three of them got adopted right away and Rudy stayed here for over a year. And he was the best dog, and finally got adopted by this gay couple. That fell in love with him, on the spot, and it just took a year for somebody to have a personal fit for him. So, but Sydney is a good dog, he'll find a home, hopefully, reasonable soon.

49:55 - 50:15
People will walk by here sometimes, put money in and I'll say do you want a brochure, I've been walking by this street corner for 9 years, I know all about Mighty Mutts. Its a great organization, he's been featured on ABC.

50:31 - 51:12
Its a great Organization, its this one guy, who decided he was going to do this. Its a great story. Its a great organization. There's not too many no kill shelters left. Because of the economy. They have to euthanize the dogs and I know there is one out in Long Island, and I think there is another one north of Westchester. And sometimes people come by and ask if we can take in their dog and you can't because there's a limit of how many dogs you can have.
