I love the journey from concept to design to the actual product
Hello! My name is Rabia Malik and I'm a recent graduate from Parsons MFA Design+Technology program in NYC. Before Parsons the West Coast was my home - Las Vegas to be exact. I got my BA in Broadcast Journalism and New Media. While practicing as a professional journalist I realized that what I cared about most was emerging technology and media and how it will shape the way people interact with each other and the rest of the world. I wanted to play a part in how these technologies would be used and design ways that people could get the most out of them. So I went to grad school in 2007 to make that happen.
At Parsons I gained hands on experiece in Web development, physical computing, to usability and interaction design, graphic design, motion graphics as well as design and ethnography.
After all the prototyping, solder fumes, brainstorming, user testing, semi-coding, and research I am now a passionate designer for anything that requires meaningful user interaction.
I am currently a freelance photographer for Expedia.com and Home & Abroad. Please check out the rest of my photography portfolio here.
Thanks for visiting!
