BOXING GAME

[ description ]

This was my first Computer Vision based game. The game is incredibly simple. The point of the game is to touch a block on the screen as many times as possible in a given amount of time. The user must kick the lower block to start the timer. He or she has 20 seconds to hit the block at eye level as many times as possible in that amount of time. The timer is in the bottom left of the screen and the hit tally is located in the bottom right. I got 55.

The objective here was to simply make a complete game, where you could better a score on successive runs.

[ analysis ]

This was a good thing to get working. Its fun to play the first few times, and attempt to better your score. Of course, it got old quick. It is interesting how it encouraged a punching bag like action from the user (the most effective method I found). Its good to be reminded that such behaviors emerge from simple rules.

This study lead me to think of how to incorporate more sensitive and continuous interactions.

What happens if the block moves and fights back?
