On Saturday, Cameron Browning and I joined up with the boys from Mein Stiffi and had a projection party with Splnlss on his roof in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We were testing out a project I've dubbed "Steadman," which is a crazy looking drawing tool we created on a slow day in the lab this past August. The results remind me a lot of Ralph Steadman's work.

We've been sort of picking at it now and then. It has tablet support, so you can take your handy Wacom and use the pressure of the pen to adjust the madness of the line you're drawing. Next up... maybe some way of animating the output when it's done. Suggestions are welcome.

From my place in the city I can see a light show against a building but its got no graphical inspiraition. It's intresting, but what I was unable to understand is there some kind of a screen where the projector is drawing, or is it directly projected on the building itself, or something else?
And why there are this glitches on the letters?
Is it because of the tablet writing or due to errors in the projector?

Good questions. The projection is right onto the building itself. The user at the computer is looking at the building as they draw and, in effect, drawing on the building directly, like graffiti.

The glitches are intentional. The drawing tool is intended to re-create the feeling of writing with a sloppy, ink-filled pen, so that burst of color appear at strange intervals in the process.
