[07.24.03 Game - call it even...]
The last game was fun - not as many people, but there was some stiff competition what with the free Spoon show and all. Also, it was the first sunshiney moments after a week of misery's rain so people musta been in shitty, non-frolicky moods. Too bad, cuz those of us who trucked out left with big happy feelings.

There were about 16 people and one guy who was originally there for the benches joind us - we called him "grey shirt guy," and he was on the green team. 16 is certainly the minimum amount of people for a fun game. We played until dark when the bats chased us outta the park. Silly bats - we're not capturing *you* but rather the flag!

It's hard to catch a flag that's buried, though - ahem, GREEN TEAM. Well, no matter - they won one game and forfeited the next so at the end of the day it was basically a tie (although, they cried uncle...we were forced to surrender - it think it's clear which team has more spirit. but i may be biased). Winners all of us - and so every player received a special princess or hello kitty headband from chinatown.

[Next Game]
Next game will be on a Sunday (the days are getting shorter!!) - probably at the end of August or (more likely) early September. Folks are traveling still - I'll be in Spain and Italy until 19 August myself... Stand by for more details... In the meantime, click on rules and think about how we might spice it up or make finding the flag less taxing. We'll play in a more woody, private area of the park next time, and I'll chalk arrows all the way there from grand army plaza to help the kids less familiar with the park get there...

Next time, how about Yellow and Red for team colors? They're both highly visible and discernible (green/blue doesn't work too well for the color blind).
