still from video I have been working on since October 2008. It chronicles the migration of the trumpeter swans to the Skagit Valley, WA. between october09 and february 09. it was truly remarkable to watch these birds.

my attempts to fly balloons over the flocks failed, i never appropriately built a contraption to fly the camera. i have meager attempts at interesting photography.

LIVEFORM/Interactive Media/Telematics/Telekinietics

Planning has begun. this collaboration will explore the nature of communication between places/systems/spaces and the interfaces that can be created to create meaning for the transfer of data, retrieval of information or synchronized communications.

Interface: the stuff between me/seattle/liveperformance and class/nyparsons/liveperformance.

what will it look like- how much effort will it take, how can we listen 'for' each other? this is different that listening "of" each other.

hummingbirds

" legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation" i found this in a card that i bought to send to my aunt josephine.

to do: record people laughing, draw pictures of hummingbirds, look at hummingbirds, decide upon o favorite shade of red,

words: wings, fast, blur, small.red. hover, fragile, heart beat,

words of wisdom

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss

what i made today

...crude animation of concepts for another perspective. is that what we each do - we form our own perspectives.

My colleague Turi Mckinley sent me this link today. Clever crows caught on camera It is exciting to see how far small video technology has gone since 2005 when I was working on "project_swancam" I tried to create a collar - there was nothing available as there is currently. Mobile phone camera technology is really what swancam needed to be successful on longer distances.

Chinese Artist Lets a Thousand Compatriots Loose on Kassel

I found this while searching about Kassel and Documanta.

Chinese artist Ai WeiWei is bringing 1,001 of his compatriots to Germany to take part in the prestigious Documenta art show. The live exhibits, who will form an installation called "Fairytale," will wander around Kassel -- but are not allowed to leave the city.
