| PLEASE NOTE: Much like & is phonetically pronounced (and), the symbol (*****) shall be phonetically pronounced (tay - zer). (*****) should not be confused with any other entity bearing the same phonetical pronunciation. For example, it would be foolish to confuse the word "too" with the word "two." The same could be said of comparing (*****) to any of its homophones. Thank you for your understanding. (*****) Tag is a tele-tactic game of submission and fun. It is built on the working hypothesis that people will forego their own safety to inflict harm upon others. This is a project that thoroughly explores the darker side of human nature and social progress through the familiar medium of game play. The game play is actually stupidly simple. Basically, you go around shocking the other players until they give up or die. Yes, people can potentially die playing (*****) Tag. It is this little bonus feature that makes (*****) Tag so unique amongst its peers. With an approach different from contemporary games that emulate warfare such as paintball, (*****) Tag seeks not to eliminate, but to reintroduce the very real threat of pain and death into game play. In a civilized society, civilized individuals would not engage in "primitive," violent, behavior. As such, it would make little sense that anyone would want to play, let alone, invent a game such as (*****) Tag. Fortunately, we do not live in a so-called civilized society. Man (and woman for that matter) lives in a world where the norm is not non-violent cooperation, but a turbulent struggle of each against all in a bitter quest for survival and dominance. Actually, I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe my game is a fluke. Maybe we live in a perfectly ordered and rational world. Maybe the abstractions of our most trusted institutions don't operate on principles of non-cooperative game theory. Maybe everyone, everywhere, are coexisting harmoniously. Maybe conflict is never resolved through violence, struggle and turmoil. Maybe peace reigns supreme. Then again, who are we kidding? Run while you can. |
